Hemorrhoid Treatment

By Rachel Jones
March 14, 2014

There are no easy solutions to the problem of hemorrhoids. Creams and other home remedies can provide you with temporary relief from your symptoms, but do not really treat the problem. Additionally, the procedures traditionally used to treat the condition call for substantial preparation that may include fasting and colon cleansing along with sedation. Aside from the preparation, the traditional treatment options are painful, invasive and require long periods for recovery. Two of the most widely used treatments are surgery (hemorrhoidectomy) and ligation (traditional banding).  The CRH Hemorrhoid Banding technique serves as a less painful alternative to those methods.

                                                    Hemorrhoids-1

About the CRH Banding Technique

The procedure is effective in 99.1 percent of all cases and can be performed within minutes.  The technique involves using suction to grab the hemorrhoid gently; the surgeon will then place a disposable rubber band over and around it to cut off its supply of blood. Usually, without any bleeding, the hemorrhoid will shrink and fall off, usually within the first 24 hours or shortly thereafter. This will probably happen without you even noticing. The use of suction greatly reduces the likelihood of you having pain or bleeding because of the procedure. Once your hemorrhoid has fallen off, its symptoms will go away.

After the Procedure

Your lifestyle and activity level will cause recuperation times to vary, but in all likelihood, you will be able to return to your regular daily life immediately. Most patients are able to go back to work on the same day as the procedure. You should still avoid doing anything overly strenuous in the first 24 hours, but you can resume your usual activities after that.

The CRH Banding technique is a simpler, safer way to treat your hemorrhoids. Not only is the procedure itself less painful, but you will be able to enjoy a symptom-free life within hours of having it performed.
