 Why Choose Endoscopic Suturing?
View the Advantages!
The procedure is typically performed in the hospital or surgical
center, on an outpatient basis. No overnight hospital stay is
required and patients go home the same day of the procedure.
Typically, only mild sedation is required. General anesthesia
is not used. Patients usually return to normal activities the
next day.
Studies have shown that endoscopic suturing, known as endoluminal gastroplication,
can control symptomatic GERD and reduce the need for acid-controlling medications.
For example, initial studies showed 78 percent of patients experienced an elimination of regurgitation
and 73 percent an improvement with regard to heartburn symptoms. More recent studes with EndoCinch
show 1 out of 2 patients are symptom free and off of the GERD medicines.
